Who draws up the tax statistics?
Tax Agency: The public agency responsible for managing the state and customs tax system and the resources of other Administrations and Public Bodies, be they Spanish or European Union, that it manages. It draws up tax statistics, collection statistics and monthly statement operating statistics for joint analysis.
General Directorate for Taxation: Its jurisdiction includes the analysis and design of the public revenue global policy with regard to the tax system and also for studying questions relating to collection and the economic effects of the various taxes. It draws up monographic publications on the main taxes, which, apart from presenting the results of the annual settlements, analyse these data to extract conclusions about the structure and behaviour of their principal figures over time. It also produces the publication "Collection and statistics of the Spanish tax system" with detailed statistical information about State, Autonomous Community and Local Corporation tax revenue.
Institute for Fiscal Studies: It is a public agency that specialises in training and research at the service of the Spanish Treasury. The Institute for Fiscal Studies maintains a Database of Economic Data of the Spanish Public Sector (BADESPE) that contains the most relevant public sector economic activity from 1980 to today, based on information produced by the competent administrative centres in each area. The information is arranged according to subject, broken down into different levels and with complementary information to help users understand and interpret it, and it can be downloaded free of charge in Excel format. In terms of tax material, it offers information on tax collection, Income Tax, Equity and VAT statistics and VAT rates.
