Public Economy Research Seminarsare held throughout the year, at three or four-week intervals. The research carried out by university lecturers are presented at these seminars, forming a reference point for the academic debate in the field of the Spanish Treasury in our country.
Two permanent seminars on Financial and Tax Law are also held, one of which is devoted preferably to individuals who are starting their research (especially PhDs linked to university degrees) and another to established researchers.
They are “The Fernando Vicente-Arche Seminar” and “The Fernando Sainz de Bujanda Seminar”, respectively, in honour of the memory of two famous Spanish tax experts. The aim of both seminars is to offer a permanent meeting place and collaboration between the university, the Tax Administration, the Judiciary and the Tax Advisory Service. They have both been held on a monthly basis at the Institute for Fiscal Studies. The documentation offered at the start of each seminar is available by accessing the Institute for Fiscal Studies.
Finally, seminars on Public Statistics are held to provide methodological support for questions of public economics and the use of the official statistics system.
