The international side of the activity undertaken by the Ministry of Finance and the Economy is channelled through its participation in international forums and integration into supranational institutions (European Union, International Monetary Fund, World Bank, etc.).
The Ministry of Finance and the Economy has a network of overseas Finance Councils, the national heads of which are required to play an active, consistent role in the decision-making processes of international forums.
The network encompasses both actual Finance Councils and Finance Councillors, who are part of permanent representations before international organisations (Royal Decree 240/2000 of 18 February, Official State Gazette of 19 February 2000) (PDF 42.85 KB).
